Dato' Hajah Rosnani Receives 2011 AECEN Award

The AECEN 2011 Award for Commitment and Outstanding Service by a Woman was presented to Dato’ Hajah Rosnani binti Ibrahim, former Director General of the Department of Environment, Malaysia.

Dr. Monthip Sriratana Tabucanon (Senior Adviser to the Senate, Commission on Natural Resources and Environment, Office of the Parliament, Thailand and 2009 AECEN Award winner), representing the panel of judges, praised Dato’ Hajah Rosnani’s outstanding leadership of Malaysia DOE and her driving force behind many initiatives which are looked upon as inspiring and good example by her peers in the region. She also complimented Dato’ Rosnani on her various remarkable professional achievements, including her instrumental role in the formulation of several handbooks which are now used as standard manuals by the government. Dato’ Rosnani was also a key person in the drafting and the historic signing of the ASEAN Agreement on Transboundary Haze Pollution on 10 June 2002 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Dato’ Rosnani was unable to attend the 2012 AECEN Forum and receive the award in person and sent along the acceptance speech video which was shown during the award ceremony.
