EIA: Jiangxi Fuzhou Urban Integrated Infrastructure Improvement Project

Published Date:
05/2012

The Jiangxi Fuzhou Urban Integrated Infrastructure Improvement Project was formulated as a response to the development of the high-speed railway currently under construction, which includes a new station in Fuzhou. To make the optimum use of the railway the station must be linked to the existing city through effective urban planning, well-designed multimodal transport infrastructure and high-quality integrated public transport services. This will reduce transport costs, increase travel opportunities, improve accessibility and regional connectivity to jobs and services, reduce emissions, promote economic development and support poverty reduction. The Project also includes channel realignment and widening of the Fenggang River and development of a linear park to improve flood capacity and to create a new urban amenity resource.
